Anklets

Anklets

Life is short. Take chances. Love ankle bracelets. Anklets, if you’re on a first name basis.

I’m dreaming of a nice thin gold anklet, similar to this one, over at Catbird, but this girl is going to hope for a thrift store gem.

Love this mix of a casual friendship bracelet with the Catbird beauty in silver.

Less is not more. Anklets for all!

Alyson Fox + West Elm

Alyson Fox + West Elm

I’ve always had a design girl crush on Alyson Fox. I mean, look at that cute dress she has on!

I stumbled upon Fox’s artwork a few years back and have enjoyed watching her explore fashion, dinnerware and jewelry. Now this unstoppable creative maven has collaborated with West Elm on a collection of gorgeous pillows, rugs and other home accessories.

Which of course, I love. I’m telling you this girl can do no wrong!

The collection hits stores October 23rd!

Tracey Reinberg: Kismet Tile

Tracey Reinberg: Kismet Tile

I’m loving the bold tiles designed by Tracey Reinberg for her Los Angeles company Kismet Tile. Bright 60s inspired hues and geometric patterns are one power-packed punch!

Reinberg also designs wallpaper and textiles. In a recent interview with Martha Stewart magazine Reinberg said her constant to designing is “all about playing with pattern, color, texture, and light.”

Chicago Loves Part #1

Chicago Loves Part #1

What a wonderful, busy, crazy six/seven weeks I’ve had. I spent 5 weeks in Chicago last month training with my new company Aritzia. During my extended stay I got to explore and enjoy the city and wanted to share some of my favorite spots with you!

1. Penelope’s

1913 West Division Street: Ukrainian Village/Wicker Park

Absolutely stunning collection of all the brands that make my heart sing. APC dresses, Rachel Comey shoes, Alyson Fox jewels, Petit Bateau tees, I could go on forever. The whole aesthetic of the store inside and out was super inspiring, even if I didn’t have the dough to come home with anything! I am thinking about ordering these babies for summer.

Here are some instagram shots I took while exploring the shop…

I wanted this bug dress pretty bad.

2. Lula Cafe

2537 North Kedzie Boulevard: Logan Square

I shared a lovely brunch with two Aritzia gals at Lula Cafe. My indulgences: the best bloody mary ever,  carrot pancakes, and a lox plate. (Which I devoured!) We shared a large table on the recently remodeled side of the restaurant and I left happy!

Part two coming soon!

I can still remember Nicholas giving me a promo copy of Two Suns. After taking a listen, he thought I would like it, and boy was he right!

We ended up having our first dance at our wedding to one of the songs and I still have her gorgeous, haunting voice on regular rotation. I can’t wait for the new album!

Gorgeous! I’m loving her new hair style and her outfit (which is vintage & topshop!) has such beautiful colors. So demure, yet not too pristine.

Check out an interview where she “discusses” her new look here!

On a side note, I prefer female vocalists to male (unless your name is Thom Yorke).
