Button Me Up!

Button Me Up!
Any clothing that buttons up the back is a favorite of mine. It’s charming and appealing in an unexpected way. I’m currently wearing a simple striped tee from JCrew and the buttons up the back make the shirt!

Definitely on the look out for a great new blouse that buttons up the back for my fall update.
Yea, fall!

Design Classic: The Chesterfield

Design Classic: The Chesterfield
A few months ago, Mr. Arden Park showed me a picture of a couch he had found at a thrift store for $50. It was navy, leather, and gorgeous. He wondered if I thought he should have bought it. Yes, I shrieked…It’s a Chesterfield!!!
Sadly, when he returned to the thrift store the next day the couch was gone.
Although this traditional style does stray from my mid-century heart, it is a classic that cannot be ignored! Tufted leather (or velvet, my latest obsession) is so beautiful, but not fussy, something you’d want to curl up on with a good book.
Speaking of good books, I just finished “An Object of Beauty,” and really enjoyed it. If you enjoy art history and sneaky heroines, check it out.
Today’s lesson: If you ever see a Chesterfield anywhere for $50…BUY IT!
